Regarding my essay

My essay is referring to the second one down under my essay post which I just realized looks like a head/face.

The words artistic and hard being the hair, the working being the back of the neck, the happy being the chin. The clever looks like a mad mouth and the beginning of the word creative being the eye and nose area.  That was unintentional and random!

Typographical self-Portrait essay

I created my Typographical self-Portrait using the words, artistic,Hard-Working,Creative,Clever, and Happy.  My design used the word artistic to represent the principle of hierarchy.  I chose what I felt was the most artistic typography for the text and made it arch at the very top of my piece and used the darkest value for impact as well as to lead the way for repetition to continue with my other character words.
I manipulated my character trait of Hard-Working to have varied size and value, making it appear to be moving in and out as if it were "working." I used a vertical text on the working portion of the word to help it mimmic the shape of a tool. In tackling the word creative I chose,( in my opinion) what was a creative looking text and gave it a flowing look to represent the phrase," Let your creativity flow."  I also made the entire word varigated in value on the lighter end of the value scale as not to detract from the all important word "Artistic."
The word clever, I made simple and straight forward because being clever usually involves simple solutions to seemingly complicated problems. I chose to arch the word in keeping with repition throughout the piece.  For the word happy I chose a text that felt happy to me and arched it into a smile and gave it a subtle value, giving it what I felt was a pleasnt appeareance.
I used different variations in sizes,  typography, and value.  I used the word artistic as a focal-point and I think I created visual flow.  I stayed within the guideline of the design being 30-50% negative space and based on the rule of thirds.  However, the more I work on this project the more ideas emerge, leaving me to keep rethinking my design and come up with more and more new ideas for improvements in my design.
